Background 

Craig Errington is Group Chief Executive of Wesleyan, a provider of specialist financial services for doctors, dentists, teachers and lawyers.

Craig marked 25 years’ service with Wesleyan last year, joining the company as a Financial Adviser in 1991 and receiving a number of rapid promotions, before being appointed to a Board position in 2002. He took up the role of Chief Executive in 2005.

Under his leadership, Wesleyan has gone through a period of transformational change and grown significantly, both organically and through acquisition.  The company currently has almost £7billion of assets under management.  Wesleyan has also grown its workforce from about 600 staff in 2005 to more than 1,600 today based both at its Birmingham Head Office, its subsidiary offices and in its national sales teams.

In 2011 Craig was named overall Director of the Year by the Institute of Directors and has also received an Honorary Doctorate from Birmingham City University in recognition of his contribution to the finance sector.

Craig was appointed Chairman of the FCA Smaller Business Practitioner Panel from 1 April 2017 and represents the interests of small firms as an ex-officio member of the FCA Practitioner Panel.
