Outgoing Chief Executive, M&G, Incoming Chief Executive Fidelity International
Anne joined Prudential in June 2016 as Chief Executive of M&G and in addition became Deputy Chief Executive of M&G Prudential in August 2017. She resigned from Prudential on 10 August 2018 to take up a position as Chief Executive of Fidelity International in December 2018.
She has been a member of the Panel since 1 November 2013 and became Chair on 1 August 2017.
Relevant skills and experience
Before joining Prudential, Anne was Chief Investment Officer, since November 2003, and Head of the EMEA region from March 2011, for Aberdeen Asset Management PLC, positions she held until February 2016.
Anne began her career in Geneva at the nuclear research organisation CERN before working for the technology developer Cambridge Consultants. She became an analyst for Alliance Capital in 1992 and then moved into portfolio management with roles at JP Morgan Investment Management and Mercury Asset Management. She joined the Board of Edinburgh Fund Managers plc as Chief Investment Officer and Joint Managing Director in 2002 and continued in this role following Aberdeen Asset Management PLC’s acquisition of Edinburgh Fund Managers plc in 2003.
Anne is Vice Convener (Chair) of the Court of Edinburgh University and Chair of the CERN & Society Foundation. She is a Chartered Engineer, an Honorary Fellow of the CFA Institute (UK) and holds an honorary degree from Heriot-Watt University. Anne is also on the Board of Leaders of 2020 Women on Boards, a US organisation which aims to increase the proportion of women on corporate boards. From 2012 until February 2016, Anne was a non-executive director of Esure Group plc. She is also an Ambassador for the 30% Club. Anne was appointed a Commander of The Royal Victorian Order (CVO) in 2014 and a CBE in 2015.
